And I forgot what the point of that digression was. And then the singer went off and killed his girlfriend and was sentenced to eight years in prison. I still remember the first time I got hooked on French indie rockers Noir Désir, and used Altavista’s then pretty unbelievable Babel Fish translator to figure out how dumb most of the lyrics were. Language doesn’t need to be an issue anyway. Unless you absolutely love grandiose gypsy-themed concept albums – then you should definitely Google Translate that shit. To be honest, Kaizers lyrics are rarely exceptionally awesome when it comes to, so if you don’t understand Norwegian you’re probably not missing out on a lot. The Norwegian lyrics obviously makes it a bigger challenge, but hey, it has worked for a bunch of black metal acts, so why not for Kaizers? That being said, it’s mostly the European countries that have fallen hard for Kaizers. Kaizers Orchestra would probably never have been on one of those lists because it’s kind of unlikely that a Norwegian pump organ-infused gypsy-folk-rock band would ever make it big outside of Norway. The amount of Norwegian bands predicted, by Norwegian media lists, to make it big outside of Norway is always massive.

The amount of Norwegian bands making it big outside of Norway isn’t exactly massive. Not familiar with one of Norway’s most popular bands ever? Here’s a quick introduction, before it’s too late.
